Welcome to the SWCA-Georgia page! We are working on some exciting plans for our state community in an effort to reach out to as many writing centers as possible. If you are part of our Georgia community, please feel free to contact Lauren DiPaula with questions or comments. You can also visit our facebook page, SWCA-Georgia. We look forward to working with you.

Georgia State Representative: Brandy Ball Blake, Georgia Institute of Technology (2020)

It's time for the Fall Forum!

The SWCA Conference theme for 2020 is "Growing Our Centers." For our SWCA-GA Fall Forum, we will meet at the University of West Georgia on Sept. 14 at 10 a.m.-3 p.m. to discuss and present on this topic, breaking down the call to determine what nuances lie within and presenting ideas that we have on growth to our peers.

We invite you to submit proposals for sessions that would fit this theme. Proposals could include

  • completed presentations that fit the theme,
  • partial presentations that you would like to workshop before submitting to SWCA (or practice before IWCA), or
  • ideas related to the theme that you would like to explore with others, perhaps leading to networking and co-paneling opportunities.

Please RSVP by Sept. 6 with this information, your food restrictions, and the location of your center. Everyone who is interested is invited - tutors, administrators, etc. Please spread the word far and wide. We want a hearty discussion!
