Awards

The SWCA sponsors annual awards that recognize excellence at both the tutor and supervisor levels. Awards are presented at our annual conference. See below for details about awards and the nomination process.

SWCA Tutor Awards recognize leadership, commitment, and overall excellence of individuals working in an SWCA writing center. Individuals can be nominated in one of three categories:
  • Undergraduate Tutor
  • Graduate Tutor
  • Professional Tutor
The SWCA Achievement Award recognizes the outstanding, sustained body of work of a writing center director or supervisor to a particular writing center, the SWCA, or the writing center community at large.

  • Nominations and self-nominations are welcome for all awards. Nominations are accepted up until October 31 November 9 each year. Winners will be notified by early December, and awards are presented at the next SWCA annual conference (the following February).
