Tutor Awards

SWCA Tutor Awards recognize leadership, commitment, and overall excellence of individuals working in an SWCA writing center. Individuals can be nominated in one of two categories: 

Undergraduate Tutor

Graduate Tutor

SWCA Achievement Award


The SWCA Achievement Award recognizes the outstanding, sustained body of work of a writing center director or supervisor to a particular writing center, SWCA, or the writing center community at large.


Past Award Recipients

Self nominations are welcome for all awards. All nominations must be submitted by October 19th, 2017.
Please email the following information to Lisa Marzano, SWCA Awards Committee Chair at Lisa_Marzano@pba.edu.

Nomination requirements for the Undergraduate Tutor Award:

 i. Nominee’s name

ii. Award—Undergraduate Tutor Award

iii. Nominee’s institutional affiliation, phone number, and email address

iv. An explanation for why this person should receive this award (no more than one page)

 

 Nomination requirements for the Graduate Tutor Award:

 i. Nominee’s name

ii. Award Name—Graduate Tutor Award or Professional Tutor Award

iii. Nominee’s institutional affiliation, phone number, and email address

iv. An explanation for why this person should receive this award (no more than one page)

v.  A statement (no more than one page) of the nominee’s writing tutor philosophy

 

 Nomination requirements for the SWCA Achievement Award:

 i. Nominee’s name

ii. Award Name—Achievement Award

iii. Nominee’s institutional affiliation, phone number, and email address

iv. An explanation for why this person should receive this award (no more than two pages)

v. The nomination email should also include: 

1.A statement (no more than two pages) of the nominee’s writing center philosophy

2.The nominee’s CV

3.A statement of support from a peer in the writing center field 

 

Winners will be notified in early November so they have time, if they wish, to apply for conference scholarships.
