“Developing Writing Center Support for Multimodal Work Across the Curriculum”
Monday, Sept 26, 7-8pm via Zoom
Presented by Dr. Eric Mason and Dr. Logan Bearden of Nova Southeastern University
Many composition programs have embraced the idea of encouraging students to work across multiple modes and genres, allowing students to create everything from infographics to podcasts in addition to more conventional academic multimodal formats such as slide presentations and posters. But faculty often lack support and training for how to help students develop such projects to their full potential, and they often face resistance from those who consider such work to be less valuable than more traditional written genres. This webinar will discuss strategies for training consultants to work with students on multimodal projects and for working with faculty across disciplines to engage students in multimodal production.
FREE for SWCA members (donations welcome)
NOTE: All consultants from a center that has an institutional membership can attend webinars for free, but to register you will have to ask whomever controls your SWCA institutional membership account (likely, the director) to register your group and share the Zoom link with you after they receive it by email.
