The 2018 SWCA Conference will take place February 22-24, 2018 at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA.
Conference Hotel Reservations
Our two official conference hotels are Hampton Inn/Homewood Suites at 700 E. Main Street and The Omni Hotel at 100 S. 12th Street.
Please visit the Hampton Inn's SWCA reservation page to reserve a room at Hampton Inn/Homewood Suites in the SWCA conference block. These rooms start at $135/night. Note that the rooms include free breakfast, Wi-Fi, and one parking space per room per night. The cut-off date for reserving rooms in the conference block and at the special rate is Thursday, January 25, 2018.
SWCA block rooms at the Omni can be reserved at the Omni Hotel for $129/night. Note that these rooms include free Wi-Fi and one complimentary valet parking space per room per night. While The Omni is unable to provide free breakfast, there are a number of morning dining options at the hotel, including Starbucks, Arby’s Marketplace, and a high-end breakfast buffet. The cut-off date for reserving rooms in the conference block and at the special rate is Thursday, January 25, 2018.
Hampton Inn will extend the conference rate for two days before and two days after the conference dates. To get the rate for 2/20-21 and/or 2/24-25, you will need to call the hotel conference coordinator, Stephanie Stoeckli, at 804.709.0934.Travel Information
Air travel
Richmond International Airport (RIC) serves six domestic airlines: American, Delta, JetBlue, Southwest, United, and Allegiant.
RIC features 9 car rental agencies: Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National, Payless, and Thrifty. RIC also has a sedan customer service counter, as well as well as Greater Richmond Transit Company bus service, and taxis available from Airport Taxi, Galaxy Cab, and Richmond Flyer.

Car travel
The two major highways leading into Richmond are I-95 and I-64.

Getting around
Both Hampton Inn/Homewood Suites and The Omni offer a free hotel shuttle within a two- to three-mile radius. VCU will also be offering limited shuttle service between campus and the hotels.
If you are driving, Richmond is an easy city to navigate. While there is plenty of free parking, including in tourist-friendly areas such as Carytown, you will have to pay in some areas, whether you opt for a lot, deck, or street parking.
